Leading Manufacturer in Window Coverings Introduces Collection of Decorative Side Panels, Drapery, Roller and Roman Shades to Provide a Complete Window Solution
PEARL RIVER, NY (September 23, 2019)—Hunter Douglas, the world’s leading manufacturer of custom window treatments, announced today the launch of its new Design Studio™ program that will provide consumers with a complete solution for a fully dressed window. As the company continues to expand its portfolio of top-of-the-line offerings, it is pleased to launch this sophisticated collection of drapery, side panels, and Roman shades that perfectly pair not only with other products in the collection, but also with a wide array of Hunter Douglas window treatments. The Design Studio™ program provides consumers with a streamlined way to customize the look and feel of their windows.
The foundation of the Design Studio™ program is its Core Fabric Line, featuring timeless, yet modern designs with neutrals, solids, patterns and textures across a variety of fabrics, including linen blends, velvets, silk blends, sheers, embroideries, wool blends, jacquards and performance fabrics. The fabrics can be used for decorative side panels, drapery, and Roman shades to create a highly coordinated, finished look.
“Hunter Douglas is constantly innovating and thinking of ways to make window fashions both functional and stylish,” says Ron Rubinoff, President of Hunter Douglas Window Designs Group. “This new program helps the consumer add their own look or finishing touch to the décor of their homes. We believe consumers and designers will appreciate the thought and care that went into each step of the new Design Studio™ collection.”
With the launch of Design Studio™, Hunter Douglas will also reveal its much-anticipated collaboration with celebrated Brooklyn-based textile designer Rebecca Atwood. The Rebecca Atwood Collection for Design Studio™ will debut with 43 fresh and modern fabrics designed by Atwood that support the Hunter Douglas point of view. These fabrics will be available in side panels, drapery, roller shades and Roman shades in harmonizing colors and patterns. The fabrics within the collection coordinate beautifully to create a layered look at the window. They also complement and coordinate with the Design Studio Core Line of fabrics and the entire line of Hunter Douglas window treatments.
“We are thrilled to partner with Rebecca Atwood on the first-ever Design Studio™ featured artist series. Her influence in the creative world has been inspiring to us. Not only is she a remarkable artist, but she has the same attention to high quality and beautiful designs that we hoped to bring to this line, and we think our consumers will be quite enthusiastic about the collection,” says Rubinoff.
“It is an honor to be a part of the Hunter Douglas Design Studio™ launch,” says Rebecca Atwood, founder of Rebecca Atwood Designs. “Natural light is a luxury – it makes everything look better – and window treatments become such an important part of the room. For my Hunter Douglas collection, I revisited traditional patterns, as well as soft, textural patterns that are easy to layer into any space. I wanted to create a collection that had an effortlessness to it, but also included a few pieces that can really be the focal point of a room. The exclusive patterns I designed grew into a stunning line of fabrics that I’m proud to launch with Hunter Douglas.”
As part of this September launch, Hunter Douglas will feature PowerView® motorized drapery hardware that allows for complete control of all Hunter Douglas drapery and window treatments in a home. An innovative wireless operating system, PowerView® Automation enables more personalized and convenient living through simple commands, pre-programmed ‘Scenes’ like ‘movie time’ or ‘good morning’, and integration with other smart home systems. This allows for automated control of both drapery and window treatments so they are able to adjust simultaneously, adding a layer of convenience that has not existed until this launch.
The Design Studio™ program launch coincides with an important milestone for leading custom window covering manufacturer Hunter Douglas, which is celebrating its 100th year of innovation in 2019.
