The personal information we collect depends on how you interact with us, the websites and services you use, and the choices you make.
We collect personal information about you from different sources and in various ways including information you provide directly, information collected automatically, information from other sources, and data we infer or generate from other data.
Information you provide directly. We collect personal information you provide to us. For example:
Identifiers. We collect identifiers such as your name, username or account name (including login credentials), postal address, email address, telephone number, Internet Protocol (IP) address, device identifiers (such as cookie IDs, mobile IDs, and MAC addresses.
Commercial information. We collect information regarding products and services you purchase, obtain, or consider, warranty registrations, consultation requests, transaction history, and purchasing preferences. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include information relating to product inquiries, on-site consultations, measurements, installations, dealer and distributor relationships, specifications, quotations, and purchases.
Professional Information. We may collect names, job titles, and other information relating to dealer, distributor, architect, designer, contractor, builder, and other business relationships.
Demographic data. In some cases, such as when you create a profile, register for an event, or participate in surveys, we may request that you provide certain demographic information such as age, gender, marital status.
Scheduling information. We collect information related to dates you are available for certain services such as home service or consultation appointments
Payment information. If you make a purchase or other financial transactions, we or our payment processor will collect credit card or other financial account information, and other payment details.
Audio, electronic, and visual information. We collect the photos, documents, comments, or other files you or others upload to our services; and if you call us or communicate with us (e.g. send us email or chat messages or other written communications), we and our service providers may collect (and in some cases, record and retain) those communications.
Other personal information. In addition to the personal information described above, we may collect other information that you voluntarily provide when you interact with us or our Services.
Information we collect automatically. When you use our services, we and our advertising and analytics partners collect some information automatically through cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies. For example:
Internet and other electronic network activity. When you visit our websites, our web servers automatically log your Internet Protocol (IP) address and information about your device, including device identifiers (such as MAC address); device type; and your device’s operating system, browser, domain name and other software including type, version, language, settings, and configuration. Our websites and online services store and retrieve cookie identifiers, mobile IDs, and other data.
Geolocation data. We may collect or estimate your geolocation.
Usage data. We automatically log or record your activity on our websites and in our emails, apps and connected products, including the URL of the website from which you came to our sites, pages you viewed, how long you spent on a page, date/time stamps, links you click on, how you navigate our website and services, and other details about your use of and actions on our website. HOW WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION

HOW WE DISCLOSE INFORMATION
In addition to the specific situations discussed elsewhere in this Privacy Statement, we may disclose personal information in the following situations:
Affiliates and Corporate Transactions. We disclose personal information to our corporate affiliates (e.g., parent company, sister companies, subsidiaries, joint ventures, or other companies under common control), including other Covered Companies. For example, we will disclose personal information where we share common data systems or where access helps us to provide our websites and services and operate our business. If another company acquires, or plans to acquire, our company, business, or our assets (or if we acquire another company or business), we will also disclose information to that company, including at the negotiation stage.
Public. Some of our websites and services may provide you the opportunity to post comments, or reviews, in a public forum. If you decide to submit information on these pages, that information may be publicly available.
Partner Promotion. We may offer contests, sweepstakes, or other promotions with third-party partners. If you decide to enter a contest, sweepstakes, or promotion that is sponsored by a third-party partner the information that you provide will be disclosed to us and with them. Their use of your information is governed by their own Privacy Statement.
Financial services & payment processing. When you provide payment data, for example to make a purchase, in some cases you will provide it directly to our payment partner. In other cases, when we receive it first, we will disclose payment and transactional data to banks and other entities as necessary for payment processing, fraud prevention, credit risk reduction, analytics, or other related financial services.
Vendors and Service Providers. We disclose your personal information to vendors and service providers working on our behalf for the purposes described in this Privacy Statement. Among other things, vendors and service providers help us to administer our website, provide customer service support, conduct surveys, provide technical, security, communications, and cloud-hosting support, and assist in the fulfillment of orders. Vendors and service providers may host or operate those or any other aspects of our business, potentially including any mechanism through which we send or receive communications, such as email systems, call centers, websites, applications, or components of any of them. Vendors and service providers engaged in this manner may collect information from you directly when you communicate or interact with us.
Other Disclosures with Your Consent. We may disclose your information to other third parties when we have your consent or direction to do so.
Other Disclosures without Your Consent. We may disclose personal information when we believe doing so is necessary to comply with valid legal orders, including subpoenas, warrants, or court orders, or in connection with any legal process, or to address the requirements of relevant laws. We may also disclose your personal information in order to establish or exercise our rights, to defend against a legal claim, to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding possible illegal activities, suspected fraud, safety of person or property, a violation of our policies, or to comply with your request for the shipment of products to or the provision of services by a third-party intermediary.
Some of the disclosures to these recipients may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as defined under the laws of California and other U.S. states. Please see the “Choice and Control” and “Your Privacy Rights” sections below for more details.
Please also note that some of our websites and services also include integrations, references, or links to services provided by companies whose privacy practices differ from ours. If you provide personal information to any of those companies, or allow us to disclose personal information with them, your information is governed by their privacy statements and practices.
Finally, we may create de-identified information in accordance with applicable law, which we may use and disclose for any purpose.
CHOICE AND CONTROL OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We provide a variety of ways for you to control the personal information we hold about you, including choices about how we use that data. In some jurisdictions, these controls and choices may be enforceable as rights under applicable law (as described in the “Your Privacy Rights” section).
Communication Preferences
Marketing Emails. We may send marketing emails such as newsletters, surveys, offers, and other promotional materials to you and targeted offers from third parties. If you receive marketing communications from a Covered Company or its marketing partners and would like it to stop, you can request this by following the unsubscribe instructions in emails that you receive. If you decide to opt out of marketing emails, the Covered Company may still send you service-related communications.
Text Messages. If you receive a text message that contains promotional information you can opt-out of receiving future promotional text messages at that number from that sender by replying “STOP”.
Postal Mail. If at any time you do not want to receive offers and/or circulars from a Covered Company, you can remove yourself from its postal mailing lists by emailing it (our contact information is below) with "NO SNAIL MAIL" in the subject line along with your name, address and zip code and we will remove you if required by law. Please note that our mailings are prepared in advance of their being sent. Although the Covered Company will remove your name from our mailing list after receiving your request, you may still receive mailings that had been initiated prior to your name being removed. You may also still receive mailers from third parties containing information about the Covered Company if the Covered Company hired that party to send non-targeted mailers to certain groups or markets, such as homeowners in a particular ZIP code.
Targeted Advertising. We and our vendors may allow third-party advertising technologies (e.g., ad networks and ad servers, or other advertising partners) to place cookies, pixels, or other tracking technologies on your browser or device to collect information about you to assist in the delivery of relevant advertising on our websites and services, and other websites you visit and other online services you use. These ads may be based on your current activity or your activity over time and across other websites and online services and may be tailored to your interests. For example, if you visit one of our websites, you may see ads for us on other websites you visit. Our websites and services may also contain ads about third parties or third-party products or services, and cookies and other similar technologies may be used to deliver such ads based on the websites you visit and other online activities.
Each Covered Company website will offer you certain choices about the use of cookies and similar technology for targeted advertising on that website. With some exceptions, these choices are typically specific to the device or browser you are using. If you access our services from other devices or browsers, take these actions from those devices or browsers to ensure your choices apply to the data collected when you use them.
Your targeted advertising and sale/share choices generally apply separately to each Covered Company's website. If you visit websites operated by more than one Covered Company, you may need to exercise these choices separately on each website.
Browser or Platform Controls
Cookie controls. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can go to your browser settings to learn how to delete or reject cookies. If you choose to delete or reject cookies, this could affect certain features or services of our website. If you choose to delete cookies, or if you use a browser that automatically deletes cookies, then the settings and preferences controlled by those cookies, including cookie consent preferences themselves, may be deleted, in which case you will need to repeat the relevant process to express your settings and preferences.
Global Privacy Control. Some browsers and browser extensions support the “Global Privacy Control” (GPC). Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas, and Vermont have laws that require certain companies to respond to the GPC signal. When a Covered Company website detects such a signal being sent from an IP address within a state whose law applies to the Covered Company and requires it to honor that signal, we will treat that signal as an opt-out from the use of cookies and similar technologies in that browser for “sales” and use/“sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. You can override that signal by opting in to such uses and disclosures..
Do Not Track. Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting that can send a signal to the websites you visit indicating you do not wish to be tracked. Unlike the GPC described above, there is not a common understanding of how to interpret the DNT signal; therefore, our websites do not respond to browser DNT signals. Instead, you can use the range of other tools to control data collection and use, including the GPC, cookie controls, and advertising controls described above.
Mobile advertising ID controls. iOS and Android operating systems provide options to limit tracking and/or reset the advertising IDs.
YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on where you live (such as Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, and Virginia), you may have certain rights related to our processing of your personal information, subject to certain restrictions and exemptions. The main privacy law of each of those states applies to Hunter Douglas, but some other Covered Companies are subject to fewer of them. You can contact us to inquire about whether the main privacy law of your jurisdiction applies to a particular Covered Company.
The rights under these laws include:
Right to Access or Know. You may have the right to request access to your personal information or confirmation that we process personal information about you. In certain limited circumstances, you may also request to receive access to your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
Right to Data Portability. You may request that we transfer your information to a third party, where technically feasible.
Right to Correction. You may ask us to correct inaccurate information (subject to certain exceptions). Note that we may keep historical information in our backup files as permitted by law.
Right to Request Deletion. You may request that we delete your personal information. If required by law, we will grant a request to delete information, but you should note that in many situations we must keep your personal information to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or for another business purposes.
Right to Opt Out of Certain Automated Processing. You may request to opt out of automated processing that has significant or other legal effects. Please note: we do not currently engage in this type of processing with respect to the processing performed under this Privacy Statement.

Residents of Delaware and Maryland have the right to request a list of the categories of third parties to whom a regulated Covered Company has disclosed personal information, subject to state-specific limits and exceptions, including rules that may allow the Covered Company to provide a list that is not specific to the requester.
Residents of Connecticut, Minnesota, Oregon, and Vermont have the right to request a list of specific third parties to whom a regulated Covered Company has disclosed or sold personal information, subject to state-specific limits and exceptions, including rules that may allow the Covered Company to provide a list that is not specific to the requester.
If you are a resident of one of the U.S. states listed above, you may also have the right to opt out of regulated Covered Companies’ “sale” or processing/“sharing” of your information for certain targeted advertising purposes, as those terms are defined under applicable state laws. For example, certain uses of analytics or online advertising tools as described above may result in the disclosure of your information to our third-party partners and are subject to these opt out rights.

Please note, not all of the rights described above are absolute, and they do not apply in all circumstances. In some cases, we may limit or deny your request, because the law permits or requires us to do so or we are unable to adequately verify your identity.
Exercising Your Rights
This section describes how you or your authorized agent can exercise your rights described above. The Covered Companies may use a common process for receiving most privacy rights requests, including requests to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information. However, choices regarding the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising generally apply separately to each Covered Company and its websites and services, as described below.
Right To Opt-Out from “Sale” or from “Sharing” of Personal Information for Targeted Advertising Purposes. Where applicable, you may opt out of the “sale” or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising by visiting the “Your Privacy Choices” page. These choices generally are managed separately for each Covered Company and website. Accordingly, if you interact with more than one Covered Company, you may need to exercise your opt-out choices separately on each Covered Company's website. In some states, you also can use the Global Privacy Control signal as part of an opt-out request, as described in the “Choice and Control” section above. For non-cookie/pixel-based “sales” and “sharing,” you also can submit an opt-out by emailing us at support@hunterdouglas.com and identifying the Covered Company to which you would like your opt-out request to apply.
All Other Rights. You may exercise your other privacy rights under applicable law through our request portal or by calling us at 866-930-0488. For certain requests (such as to access, correct, or delete personal information), we will need to verify your identity. We may verify your identity by phone call, email, or via our online identification tool available via our request portal. Depending on your request, we may ask for information such as your name, the last item you purchased from us, or the date of your last purchase from us. Our identification tool access information from public records to verify your identity. We will route your request to the appropriate Covered Company or Companies based on the nature of your request and your relationship with us.
If you reside in a state whose main privacy law requires it (such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, and Vermont), you may designate an authorized agent to submit requests to exercise privacy rights on your behalf. Before accepting requests from an agent, we will require the agent to provide proof you have authorized it to act on your behalf, and where we are required to verify the request, we may need you to verify your identity directly with us. If you are an authorized agent submitting a request on behalf of an individual, you must attach to the request proof that the individual gave you a signed permission to act on the individual’s behalf. We recommend using the Authorized Agent Designation Form (available via our request portal) to help provide that information.
If you send us a request to exercise your rights or these choices, to the extent permitted by applicable law, we may decline requests in certain cases. For example, we may decline requests where granting the request would be prohibited by law, could adversely affect the privacy or other rights of another person, would reveal a trade secret or other confidential information, or would interfere with a legal or business obligation that requires retention or use of the data. Further, we may decline a request where we are unable to verify your identity, the request is unreasonable or excessive, or where otherwise permitted by applicable law. If you reside in certain jurisdictions (such as Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Oklahoma, Oregon, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, or Virginia) and receive a response from us informing you that we have declined your request, in whole or in part, you may appeal that decision by submitting your appeal using the contact method described at the bottom of this Privacy Statement with the subject line “Appeal”.
HOW WE PROTECT AND RETAIN INFORMATION
We take steps to help protect personal data from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, no security measure is perfect, and we do not guarantee that your information will remain secure. To help us protect personal data, we request that you use a strong password and never share your password with anyone or use the same password with other sites or accounts.
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the website and services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Statement, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal information, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the information, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of the information, the purposes for which we obtained the information and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and applicable legal requirements.
TRANSMISSION OF INFORMATION TO OTHER COUNTRIES
The personal data we collect may be stored and processed in your country or region, or in any other country where we or our affiliates, subsidiaries, or service providers process our data, some of which may have laws that offer different levels of data protection than the country in which you reside. Currently, we primarily use data centers in the United States. The storage location(s) are chosen to operate efficiently and improve performance. We do not knowingly sell the personal information of minors under 16 years of age without legally required affirmative authorization.
The CCPA also entitles you to receive certain information from us about certain kinds of financial incentives that we may offer (when we offer them), and it prohibits various forms of discrimination against you for exercising your rights.
In certain circumstances, the CCPA allows consumers to request that businesses limit their use of certain sensitive personal information due to its sensitive nature. However, we do not engage in such uses of that information.
California Shine the Light
California’s Shine the Light Law (CA Civil Code § 1798.83) allows California residents with which a business has an established business relationship primarily for personal, family, or household purposes (a “customer”) to request a list of the “third parties” to which the business has disclosed certain “personal information” during the preceding calendar year where the business knows or reasonably should know that those third parties used the personal information for the third parties’ own "direct marketing purposes” (each term as defined by the Shine the Light Law). With certain exceptions, “direct marketing purposes” generally means use of such personal information to solicit or induce a purchase, rental, lease, or exchange of products, goods, property, or services directly to individuals by means of the mail, telephone, or electronic mail for their personal, family, or household purposes. However, a business is not required to provide this information where the business adopts and discloses a policy of not disclosing “personal information” to “third parties” for their “direct marketing purposes” (1) unless the customer first affirmatively agrees or (2) if the customer has exercised an option that prevents that information from being disclosed for such purposes within the meaning of that law.
