PowerView® Automation Now Integrates with Matter
PowerView® Gen 3 Automation is now compatible with Matter, the new universal standard for connected things developed by the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA). Matter is an open smart home protocol designed to connect devices across different brands and platforms, making it easier to install and control your devices. Matter increases compatibility, so that all your devices can seamlessly work together, now and well into the future. Matter integration is built right into the PowerView App for a simple user experience. A PowerView Gateway or Gateway Pro is required for this integration.
Matter is now the primary path to integrate with Apple Home. With Matter-enabled technology, open and close your PowerView shades using the Apple Home app and Siri. The Home app makes it easier to control all your smart home accessories on all your Apple devices. Use your voice to control PowerView shades and other Apple Home-compatible accessories with Siri. Try saying, "Hey Siri, open Living Room shades," or "Hey Siri, set Living Room Left shade to 50%."
The PowerView App has existing native integrations for Amazon Alexa and Google Home, which are feature-rich and well-tested. We recommend that users continue to use the existing Alexa integration. For Google Home, the native integration and the Matter integration offer different feature sets. Learn more about which Google Home option may work best for you here.
Additional Matter-enabled services and controllers are available in the market but may or may not work well with PowerView and have not been fully tested. We have fully tested the Apple Home and Google Home integrations and have lightly tested Samsung SmartThings.
