Q:What do I do with my sliding glass doors if I don't care for vertical blinds? Are there other options?

A:

I suggest Luminette® Privacy Sheers, Duette® Vertiglide™ honeycomb shades and Skyline® Gliding Window Panels. A vertically hung product is the most practical function to use for sliding doors. Having it pull all to one side is always a simple operating option when you want to easily walk in and out of a highly trafficked door. Luminette Privacy Sheers look elegant and light and airy in appearance. Go for Skyline Gliding Window Panels for a more modern or contemporary look. Duette Vertiglide is soft and more casual and could go with any decorating style. Even though these are vertically hung products, they do not resemble vertical blinds, and are all great choices for your sliding doors. There are horizontally hung companion products to each of these products in case you have other windows in the room that you want to dress. This will coordinate both regular windows and sliding doors beautifully.

Sally recommends Silhouette® window shadings (she has them in her own home). The two-on-one headrail option with this product is highly recommended, as you can independently operate the different sides of the shadings. If you are barbecuing and are going in and out of the door but the sun is streaming in and you want protection, this is a practical option. You still enjoy protection from the sun while allowing easy access in and out of the door.
