Specialty Shapes & Design Options
The front of my house is a mess! There is way too much color with my beige brick, overgrown landscaping, and a non-descript porch. Can you help?
Ok, let's make it right! I recommend first selecting a color scheme. How about a black, green, purple, and pink combo? Start by paring down the landscaping, saving some evergreens for year round texture. Add more texture with some boxwood, as well as perennials and annuals in the ground and in pots (try to get them in varying shades of pinks and purples).
For your porch, I suggest looking for new cushions in floral or stripes that go with your color scheme. A black door, new lighting fixtures and an outdoor rug will also make that entrance anything but non-descript. Make sure your window coverings that all face the front are white and have the same linear orientation (like horizontal). Consider Parkland™ Reflections® blinds
, Heritance® hardwood shutters
, Silhouette® window shadings
, Pirouette® window shadings
, Vignette® Modern Roman Shades
, or the Duette® Architella® honeycomb shades
. They don't all have to be the same window covering, but make sure they're all the same color and orientation—it's key here! I recommend visiting The iMagine™ Design Center
to see some of these options up close to see what works for you!
Add an outdoor piece of artwork and you will have a totally new look and will be the envy of your neighborhood.
