I have an open concept home. The problem is that I don't know where one room starts and where one ends. Can you help me with paint and window coverings?I love the open concept home! It can make the home seem bigger, but you are right -- it also is a challenge! Should you paint all the walls in your open area the same color? No! I recommend using three colors in this space. For example, green, gold and spice. Use green on three walls in the living room. On the common wall that runs into the dining room, use the spice color. And then paint the whole dining room with that same spice color. The foyer and hallway could be a transitioning soft gold. Tie all of these areas in with the same window covering. It will give the continuity to your space that you are looking for. And you can also use fabrics (for your furniture, your pillows, etc.) in these open rooms that tie in all the colors.
